A program to support local youth interested in volunteering their time to various non-profit organizations in the surrounding communities, VolunTEENS builds skills and healthy networks for kids in grades 5 through 12.

For our young people in grades 5-8, we offer MVMS VolunTEENS, a club that meets once a month for planned, group volunteer activities such as Apple Slingshots at Pumpkin Regatta, making cards for veterans and more. Click on over to the MVMS VolunTEENS webpage for all the details.

For our teens in grades 9 through 12, we offer a more independent program where they are connected with non-profit organizations that match their interests for volunteer opportunities. Our teens help out at many community events including Old Home Day, Pumpkin Regatta, as well as the Food Pantry and local assisted living homes.

Any youth may join the program for free, and we track the participant’s volunteer hours, maintain good working relationships with the nonprofits in the community, and mentor the teens involved for the best and most fulfilling volunteering opportunities available.

As you might imagine, Covid-19 caused disruption in the opportunities that we can offer but we’re all getting back into it. However, a list of volunteer opportunities typically offered can be found by visiting our Opportunities Page. Hours can easily be logged by using our online form to submit hours.
