Our History and What We Do

We were founded in 1989 by a local attorney and 2 local businessmen to better serve the needs of our community’s young people and ultimately provide temporary shelter for abused or neglected children. While our founder’s original intent of establishing a physical house was never realized, the organization adapts to meet needs as they emerge and acts a “virtual house” providing protection and support to local youth and families through a wide variety of services and programs.

As a coalition, we work as a collaborative partner with local law enforcement, schools, churches, Parks and Rec, the library, parents, the business community, and other local nonprofits.  We are also active participants in the Suicide Prevention Initiative, regional Substance Misuse Prevention Initiatives, the New Hampshire Juvenile Court Diversion Network and the biennial Youth Risk Behavior Survey.  These partnerships enable us to better identify needs, gather resources and deliver high-quality evidence-based youth programming to our community.
